Recently, Special Olympics Nova Scotia featured one of our great volunteers, Kari Robertson, in a story celebration volunteerism on their website. Kari has been a volunteer with Special Olympics Halifax for over 10 years. We are so lucky to have her!
Special Olympics Halifax athletes are invited to join Lacrosse Nova Scotia for 100% non-contact play on Thursdays from 6:30-7:30 at Gorsebrook Box.
Athletes need a helmet, lacrosse stick, sneakers, shorts, gloves. Hockey gear is okay. Please note that all coaches are all certified through Lacrosse NS.

Special Olympics Halifax Softball will begin May 23rd, 2017.
Registration will be at the first practice on May 23rd. Anyone hoping to attend Summer Games with this team should be present for this practice to express their interest.

We are excited to announce that there is a new Youth Program starting up for Special Olympics in May called Youth Multisport. This program has been created as the next step in the Youth series following Active Start and FUNdamentals.
The program will encompass a number of sports and prepare the athletes for our main sports in Special Olympics. The pilot will cover basketball soccer and softball in the spring. Athletes can use the skills they learned in FUNdamentals and start playing the games.
