Special Olympics Halifax is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with an intellectual disability.
Participation
Special Olympics Halifax is open to every intellectually disabled person, regardless of the level or degree of that person’s disability, and whether or not that person also has other physical disabilities.

At Special Olympics Halifax, we encourage the joy of sport for people with intellectual disabilities. We support quality training and a competitive experience through our many volunteer coaches and varied sports. Our athletes are motivated to find new strengths and abilities, skills and success while developing personal confidence and fulfillment — on the playing field and in life.
